Sushma may join grand dinner with Ivanka, Modi

Hyderabad: Union external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj is expected to join the grand dinner that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be hosting for US President’s advisor and daughter Ivanka Trump at Taj Falaknuma Palace.

“We have received information that Sushma Swaraj will also attend the Falaknuma dinner after the GES inaugural,” said Hyderabad police commissioner VV Srinivasa Rao.

According to him, while Modi and Ivanka will dine in style with VVIPs at the Nizam’s famed ‘101Dining Table’, the other foreign delegates will partake of the feast in the palace lawns.

However, he clarified that neither Ivanka nor Modi will attend the grand dinner being hosted by CM K Chandrasekhar Rao at Golconda Fort’s Rani Mahal Lawns on November 29. “To ensure security in and around the two dinner venues, an additional 150 CCTV cameras have been installed,” he said.

While Ivanka is expected to land at Shamshabad airport early on November 28 morning and depart the next day by 9.30pm, PM will land at Begumpet airport on November 28 afternoon, helihop to Miyapur Metro station to flag off the Metro before throwing open GES at HICC. He will fly out from Shamshabad airport by 9.30pm after Taj Falaknuma dinner.

“Nearly 2,200 police personnel will be deployed from HICC to Taj Falaknuma as the entire focus is on VVIP arrangements. Though the dinner will go on for two-three hours, PM will attend only for one and half hours,” said Rao, adding that due to limited parking space at Falaknuma, parking arrangements are being made at Farooq Nagar bus station.

“We are in touch with the US Secret Service on Ivanka’s security. They have very strict protocols but will keep us in the loop, including for her unscheduled visits in the city,” he added.

It is not only VVIPs like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump that will be accorded the highest security cover. Some Global Inc and India Inc top honchos too will get special security cover during the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES).

This ‘special list’ of top honchos is being prepared by NITI Aayog, the nodal agency for GES2017, and is expected to be communicated to the Telangana police in a day or two, sources associated with GES told TOI.

According to sources, participants are being categorised as entrepreneurs, investors and delegates (which includes speakers, government officials and prospective entrepreneurs from startups).

While most of the 1,500 participants are expected to be accorded the same level of security, some key businessmen, due to a higher security risk perception, will be provided special security and treatment. This includes separate armed personnel as well as Green Channel clearance, which means they will not be frisked or checked and will be get access to HICC through separate entrances on the lines of entry and exit arrangements for PM and Ivanka. “ All high profile personalities will be put up at hotels with high security,” sources said. All hotels playing host to foreign delegates will be covered by armed security personnel of Intelligence Security Wing (ISW) and City Security Wing (CSW), among others, and this cover will extend to transportation as well.

Hafiz

Hafiz must be arrested and charged, US firmly tells Pak

UN too named Saeed as a global terrorist

The statement recalled that in May 2008, the United States department of the treasury designated Saeed as a specially designated global terrorist under executive order 13224. Saeed was also individually designated by the United Nations under UNSCR 1267 in December 2008 following the 26/11 Mumbai attacks in which 166 people, including six American citizens, were killed, the statement added.

The citation also effectively made the Pakistani establishment and its judicial system accomplices to international terrorism.

“LeT and several of its front organisations, leaders and operatives remain under both state department and treasury department sanctions. Since 2012, the United States has offered a $10-million reward for information that brings Hafiz Saeed to justice,” the statement added.

The US statement came hours after the UN-designated terrorist’s release was celebrated by a jihadi mob that shouted slogans inviting more death on India and showered him with rose petals.
